Symptoms
Data logging stops intermittently; log file timestamps show gaps of several hours.
Possible Causes
- SD card write-protect switch accidentally engaged, causing write failures.
- Log file size exceeds 2 GB on a FAT32 volume, preventing further appends.
- Crimson logging task priority too low, preempted by frequent screen refreshes.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Inspect the SD card physical write-protect tab position.
Tab is in the unlocked position and the lock sensor reads open. - Step 2: Check the largest log file size in the Crimson file manager.
No single file exceeds 1.8 GB and automatic file rotation is enabled. - Step 3: Increase the logging task priority in Crimson task configuration.
No timestamp gaps >1 minute appear during a 24-hour continuous test.
How to Reset
Unlock the SD card, enable automatic log rotation, and raise the logging task priority.
