Symptoms
The Roland printing press displays error R007, indicating a blanket washing system fault. The automated blanket washer is not cleaning the blanket cylinder correctly, leaving ink and paper residue that degrades print quality.
Possible Causes
- Wash cloth supply is exhausted or the cloth advance mechanism is jammed
- Cleaning solvent supply is empty or the solvent pump is not delivering solvent to the cloth
- Wash cloth contact pressure against the blanket cylinder is too low due to a worn or misadjusted pressure arm
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the wash cloth supply roll and verify the advance mechanism moves freely
Cloth supply is adequate and the advance mechanism feeds cloth smoothly without jamming - Step 2: Verify the cleaning solvent level in the reservoir and the pump delivery at the cloth contact point
Solvent reservoir is at least half full and the pump delivers solvent when the wash cycle is initiated - Step 3: Inspect the cloth contact pressure arm and spring tension against the blanket cylinder
Pressure arm applies uniform pressure and the spring tension is within the specified range
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Replace the exhausted wash cloth supply roll. 2) Refill the solvent reservoir and repair the pump. 3) Adjust the cloth contact pressure. 4) Press WASH RESET and run a test wash cycle.
