Applicable Systems
PSE200/PSE201
Symptoms
The pneumatic system reports a solenoid valve coil open circuit. The electromagnetic coil in a directional control valve is open.
Possible Causes
- Coil winding burned out from overvoltage
- Coil lead wire broken at the terminal
- Thermal fuse in the coil opened from overheating
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Test the coil resistance with a multimeter
Resistance is infinite or out of range - Step 2: Inspect the coil and lead wires for damage
Burn marks or broken wire visible - Step 3: Replace the coil with the correct voltage rating
New coil shows correct resistance
How to Reset
To reset: Replace the faulty coil, then clear the alarm.
