Wonderware System Platform
Symptoms
The Wonderware System Platform reports that the OPC client connection has been disconnected. The OPC server is no longer providing data to the Galaxy tags.
Possible Causes
- The OPC server application on the remote host has crashed or been stopped
- DCOM security configuration on the remote host has been modified, blocking the Wonderware connection
- Network firewall rule is blocking the OPC TCP port between the Wonderware server and the OPC host
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Verify the OPC server application is running on the remote host
OPC server process is active in Task Manager and accepting connections - Step 2: Check DCOM security settings on the OPC host for the Wonderware service account
Launch and Access permissions include the Wonderware account with Allow entries - Step 3: Test network connectivity to the OPC host on the configured TCP port
Connection to the OPC port succeeds and no firewall drops are logged
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Restart the OPC server application. 2) Restore the DCOM security configuration. 3) Open the firewall port if blocked. 4) Reconnect the OPC client in the Galaxy.
