Electrolux Dryer
Symptoms
The dryer displays error E002, indicating a door lock fault. The door switch or lock mechanism is not reporting the closed/locked state, preventing the drum motor and heater from energizing for safety.
Possible Causes
- Door latch not fully engaging due to misalignment or worn catch
- Door switch contacts stuck open or failed internally
- Door lock solenoid or actuator failed on models with auto-lock
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Inspect the door latch and catch for physical damage or misalignment
Door closes smoothly and latch engages with an audible click - Step 2: Test the door switch continuity with the door closed
Switch shows closed circuit when door is shut, open circuit when open - Step 3: For auto-lock models, check the lock actuator coil resistance
Actuator coil resistance is within specified range, typically 1-3K ohms
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Adjust or replace the door catch. 2) Replace the door switch if faulty. 3) Close the door firmly and press START. 4) Power-cycle if the error remains.
