Symptoms
The dryer displays error E014, indicating a steam generator fault. The steam function cannot operate because the generator is not heating or filling properly, affecting steam refresh cycles.
Possible Causes
- Steam generator heating element failed or scaled up with mineral deposits
- Water inlet valve to steam generator blocked or failed
- Steam generator temperature sensor out of calibration or failed
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Descale the steam generator using manufacturer-approved descaling solution
Generator is free of scale and water flows through cleanly - Step 2: Test the water inlet valve solenoid for correct operation
Valve opens when energized and water flows into the generator - Step 3: Check the steam generator thermistor resistance
Thermistor reads correct resistance at room temperature
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Descale or replace the steam generator. 2) Replace the inlet valve if faulty. 3) Power-cycle the dryer for 30 seconds and run a steam cycle to verify.
