Electrolux Dryer
Symptoms
The dryer displays error E015, indicating an electronic expansion valve fault. The heat pump dryer's expansion valve is not responding to control signals, affecting refrigerant flow and drying performance.
Possible Causes
- Expansion valve coil open circuit or shorted
- Valve stem stuck due to refrigerant contamination or ice formation
- Control board output circuit not sending correct PWM signal to valve
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Test the expansion valve coil resistance with a multimeter
Coil resistance is within manufacturer specified range - Step 2: Check for refrigerant contamination signs at the valve inlet
No black sludge or metal particles visible at the valve connections - Step 3: If coil is good, test the control board output voltage during operation
Board outputs correct PWM voltage to drive the valve coil
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Replace the faulty expansion valve or control board. 2) If contamination is found, the refrigerant system requires professional service. 3) Power-cycle for 30 seconds after repair.
