Electrolux Dryer
Symptoms
The dryer displays error E006, indicating the humidity sensor has failed. The control board cannot detect moisture levels in the drum, preventing auto-sensing dry cycles from terminating correctly.
Possible Causes
- Humidity sensor coated with fabric softener residue or lint
- Sensor contacts corroded or wiring harness disconnected
- Control board humidity input circuit malfunction
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Clean the humidity sensor bars with a soft cloth and mild detergent
Sensor bars are clean and shiny with no residue buildup - Step 2: Test sensor wiring continuity between sensor and control board
Wiring shows full continuity and connectors are secure - Step 3: If cleaning does not resolve, test with a known-good sensor
Replacement sensor restores proper humidity detection and cycle completes normally
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Clean or replace the humidity sensor. 2) Repair any wiring issues. 3) Press the power button to restart and select a timed cycle to verify operation.
