Symptoms
The ESAB welder displays error ES010, indicating a main power phase loss. One of the three input phases is missing, causing the welder to operate on only two phases or to shut down completely.
Possible Causes
- One of the three input fuses has blown or a circuit breaker has tripped for one phase
- Input cable connector has a loose or burned terminal on one phase pin
- Internal phase loss detection relay has detected the missing phase and initiated a protective shutdown
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check all three input fuses or circuit breakers for continuity or the closed position
All three fuses are intact and all circuit breakers are in the closed position - Step 2: Measure the input voltage on all three phases at the welder terminals
All three phases show the correct voltage with no missing phase - Step 3: Inspect the input cable connector and terminals for loose or burned pins
All connector pins are tight, clean, and show no signs of burning or overheating
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Replace blown fuses or reset tripped breakers. 2) Tighten and repair burned terminals. 3) Power cycle the welder. 4) Press RESET. 5) Verify all three phases are present and welding output is stable.
