Symptoms
The valve terminal reports a solenoid coil overtemperature. A valve coil temperature exceeds the safe limit.
Possible Causes
- Coil energized continuously beyond rated duty cycle
- Ambient temperature too high for the coil rating
- Coil voltage too high causing excess current
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the coil duty cycle against the rating
Duty cycle is within limits - Step 2: Verify ambient temperature is within range
Temperature is below the rated maximum - Step 3: Measure coil supply voltage
Voltage is at the rated value
How to Reset
To reset: Allow the coil to cool, correct the cause, then clear the alarm.
