Symptoms
The IPG YLS fiber laser system reports alarm 6.30 Fiber interlock. The laser safety interlock system has detected an open or triggered interlock circuit. The laser immediately ceases emission and locks out further output until the interlock chain is restored and the alarm is manually cleared.

All interlock connectors should be firmly seated with no visible wire damage or corrosion - Step 3: Verify the external interlock input circuit (customer safety chain including room interlocks, beam shutters, and emergency stop buttons) is complete and not open
External interlock input should show closed-circuit continuity when measured with a multimeter - Step 4: Test each interlock switch individually by actuating it and observing the controller status change
Each switch should reliably toggle the interlock status when opened and closed - Step 5: If a switch is found defective, replace it with the same part number and verify proper operation before resetting the alarm
