KSB Centrifugal Pump
Symptoms
The KSB pump displays alarm K005, indicating insufficient flow output. The pump is not delivering the expected flow rate, affecting system performance and process capacity.
Possible Causes
- Suction strainer clogged or partially blocked by debris
- Impeller partially blocked by foreign material or damaged
- Discharge valve inadvertently throttled or partially closed
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the suction strainer differential pressure
Strainer pressure drop is below 0.3 bar or within manufacturer clean specification - Step 2: Inspect the impeller through the inspection port or by disassembly
Impeller passages are clear and the vane profile is intact - Step 3: Verify all discharge valves are fully open as per system design
All manual and control valves are in the fully open position
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Clean the suction strainer. 2) Clear any impeller blockage. 3) Open all discharge valves. 4) Restart the pump and verify flow rate.
