Symptoms
The MAN Roland press displays error MR007, indicating feeder suction cup wear. The pickup suction cups are not gripping the top sheet firmly, causing misfeeds or double picks.
Possible Causes
- Suction cups hardened, cracked, or deformed from age and solvent
- Vacuum level at the suction cups is below the minimum for the paper weight
- Suction cup height setting does not match the paper pile height
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Inspect the suction cups for elasticity and surface condition
Cups are soft, pliable, and free of cracks with good sealing edges - Step 2: Measure the vacuum pressure at the cup manifold with a gauge
Vacuum is at least 0.4 bar for lightweight paper and up to 0.7 bar for heavy board - Step 3: Adjust the suction cup height to match the pile top
Cups just touch the top sheet without digging into the pile or floating above it
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Replace all suction cups as a matched set. 2) Adjust vacuum to the correct level for the paper. 3) Set cup height correctly. 4) Press RESET and run trial feeds.
