MAN Roland Offset Printing Machine
Symptoms
The MAN Roland press displays error MR011, indicating a web tension control fault. The web tension is not being maintained within the required range, causing register drift or web breaks.
Possible Causes
- Tension sensor load cell drifted out of calibration or damaged
- Dancer roll air cylinder pressure incorrect or leaking
- Infeed or outfeed motor torque not responding to tension setpoint changes
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Calibrate the tension load cells with known weights
Load cells read accurately within plus or minus 1 percent of the applied weight - Step 2: Check the dancer cylinder air pressure and piston seal condition
Pressure is at the setpoint and the cylinder does not creep when the web stops - Step 3: Test the infeed and outfeed motor response to tension changes
Motors accelerate and decelerate smoothly in response to tension setpoint changes
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Recalibrate or replace faulty load cells. 2) Restore dancer cylinder pressure. 3) Check motor drives and feedback encoders. 4) Press RESET and run a tension sweep test.
