Panasonic MINAS A5 Servo Drive Error Err26.0

Panasonic PLC & VFD Critical Speed

Model: MINAS A5 | Code: Err26.0

Applicable Systems
MINAS A5 MINAS A6 MINAS A5II FP-X FP7

Symptoms

The motor speed has exceeded the overspeed protection threshold. This can occur during rapid deceleration with high-inertia loads or when the speed command exceeds the motor's rated maximum speed.

Possible Causes

  • Motor speed exceeded the maximum rated RPM
  • Speed command from the controller is set too high
  • Runaway motor due to feedback loss (Err21) or control loop instability

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Step 1: Check the maximum speed setting in the drive parameters
Maximum speed parameter matches or is below the motor's rated speed
  2. Step 2: Verify the speed command from the controller does not exceed the rated speed
Speed command is within rated limits
  3. Step 3: Check for encoder feedback issues that could cause speed control instability
Encoder feedback is reliable and accurate
  4. Step 4: Reduce the speed command or increase the speed limit parameter if appropriate
Motor operates within the safe speed range

How to Reset

To reset: 1) Reduce the speed command to within rated limits. 2) Cycle power OFF then ON. 3) Re-enable the servo.
