Applicable Systems
Electrolux Dryer
Symptoms
The dryer displays error E001, indicating a temperature sensor fault. The control board cannot read valid temperature data from the drum or exhaust thermistor, causing the drying cycle to abort to prevent overheating.
Possible Causes
- Temperature sensor (thermistor) failed or reading out of range
- Wiring harness between sensor and control board damaged or disconnected
- Control board analog input circuit failed
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the thermistor resistance with a multimeter at room temperature
Resistance reads within manufacturer specified range, typically 10K ohms at 25C - Step 2: Inspect the sensor wiring for continuity and secure connections
Wiring shows continuity and connectors are fully seated with no corrosion - Step 3: If sensor and wiring are good, test the control board input voltage
Control board reads correct voltage range from sensor circuit
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Replace the faulty temperature sensor or repair wiring. 2) Press and hold the START button for 3 seconds to clear the error. 3) If error persists, power-cycle the dryer for 30 seconds.
