Symptoms
The packaging line reports a sensor anomaly. A proximity, photoelectric, or position sensor is returning invalid or out-of-range signals.
Possible Causes
- Sensor lens or face contaminated with product residue
- Sensor mounting loose or bracket bent causing misalignment
- Sensor element failed or wiring damaged
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Clean the sensor face and check for contamination
Sensor face is clean and unobstructed - Step 2: Verify sensor alignment to the target
Sensor detects the target consistently - Step 3: Test sensor output signal and wiring continuity
Signal is correct and wiring is intact
How to Reset
To reset: Repair or replace the faulty sensor, then clear the alarm on the HMI.
