Symptoms
The packaging line reports a servo motor fault. A servo drive motor is not responding to position or speed commands.
Possible Causes
- Servo drive fault or alarm active
- Servo motor encoder feedback loss
- Servo motor cable damaged or disconnected
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the servo drive alarm display for specific fault code
Fault code is identified - Step 2: Inspect the servo motor encoder connection
Encoder cable is securely connected - Step 3: Test motor power cable continuity and insulation
Cable is intact with no shorts or opens
How to Reset
To reset: Resolve the servo fault, then reset the servo drive from the HMI.
