Symptoms
The packaging line reports an emergency stop activation. One or more emergency stop buttons have been pressed, halting all machine motion.
Possible Causes
- Emergency stop button pressed by operator
- Emergency stop button stuck in depressed position
- Emergency stop circuit cable damaged or shorted
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Inspect all emergency stop buttons for depressed state
All E-stop buttons are in released position - Step 2: Check the emergency stop circuit for continuity
Circuit is complete with no opens or shorts - Step 3: Verify the safety relay is reset correctly
Safety relay shows normal status
How to Reset
To reset: Release all E-stop buttons, then reset the safety circuit on the HMI.
