Symptoms
The packaging line reports a label printer fault. The label printer is not printing or is producing errors.
Possible Causes
- Label printer out of labels or ribbon
- Print head dirty or damaged
- Printer communication error with the line controller
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check label and ribbon supply in the printer
Supplies are adequate and correctly loaded - Step 2: Clean the print head with approved solvent
Print head is clean and free of residue - Step 3: Verify printer network connection and status
Printer shows online status on the network
How to Reset
To reset: Resolve the printer issue, then clear the alarm from the HMI.
